Saturday, September 27

I had a lot of back pain yesterday, so I stayed home and rested. Since the pain was getting worse, I put in a call to the Dr. and he called me back a couple of hours later. He told me to stop taking the oral chemotherapy, Xeloda. This morning I woke up with less pain than yesterday, so perhaps that was a good decision. I am feeling cabin feverish. I am ready to go out this afternoon and run a few errands. My boys are all playing with friends.

My abdomen is still swollen. I hope the chemotherapy will help it shrink. I feel kind of fat. The weather is beautiful and it cheers me up to look outside. I like the weekends.

Emilee,

I am so glad that you are happy with your new doctor. It can make a big difference in your feelings during treatment.

I am still in awe of your positive and happy attitude. You see and delight in the very simple things in life that many of us take for granted.

Please let us know if you need any meals or just a friend. Your courage and strength is amazing!

Our prayers are with you as you go through these treatments.

Emilee, you are so wonderful to share your experience and feelings with us...besides worrying about you, we all need to be educated on this "cancer" world. Our youngest daughter-in-law in a survivor of Hodgkins and she got it while doing her graduate work. She has been clear for 6 years now but you never again take a cancer free body for granted.
The Lord loves us individually and has a plan and isn't it amazing that as this plan unfolds in our own life that it blesses others in their life! Miracles do happen and you have certainly shown that over and over. Whenever your time comes (now or 50 years from now), your children will never be able to say, "if only she.." You have made each day count and you have used your time well. You have a wonderful family and extended family and my goodness, the lives you have touched through friendships and the church, well, you have quite a legacy already. Just want you to know that our prayers are constantly with you and your family. There is power in that and I am sure you feel it! Bless you! With love, Carolyn Abbott

Emilee,
You truly have an amazing family. The strength of your husband, sons, mother and father, are only surpassed by yourself.
You must know that you are daily in the prayers of so many people who are privileged to know you and feel the sweet spirit you have.
I know there must be days when you are someone in your family needs help so please don't hesitate to call. We love you.
