March 4, 2009

Our sweet Emilee passed away this morning around 8:00 a.m. We rejoice she is relieved from pain and is in the arms of those who went before her who are welcoming her and watching over her. It is a comfort she passed on March 4th, as she has always “marched forth” through life's adventures and through her cancer journey. Now she is marching forth to her calling in heaven.

UPDATE: A viewing will be on Sunday, March 8, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Stake Center building on the corner of Cedar Hills Drive and Canyon Road at 3950 W Cedar Hills Drive.

The funeral will be on Monday, March 9, 10:00 a.m. at the Stake Center building on the corner of Cedar Hills Drive and Canyon Road at 3950 W Cedar Hills Drive. Viewing time will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. that morning as well.

David thanks everyone for their comments. If you feel more comfortable sending condolences directly to him, they can be e-mailed to david@bmcfunding.com.

I will post the obituary when it comes available. -Jennie Kilstrom

I am so thankful that the pain Emilee has had is gone. She is in a much better place now surrounded by loved ones.

We feel so much for our brother, David and his boys. We are here for them now along with family and friends from all over and will help them in any way we can. We love you David, Brenton, Johnny, and Nathan. Never hesitate to call when you need us. You will always have us to lean on.

From my kitchen window I can see your home and each time I glance that direction I can feel the spirit that is in your home. I feel like I am looking at a very sacred place. I know the Lord is with you right now and pray that you will all be comforted at this time. Our ward family has been strengthened from Emilee and your family. You will continue to be in our prayers.
Much Love,
Sarah Sorensen

Thank you for the posts and the updates. I have been thinking much of the family and my soul truly does mourn with you all at this hard time; especially the boys. I know that to lose a parent at a young age is very difficult. I am glad that Emilee is now reunited with Grandma and Grandpa Baer. She is in good company and will have many laughs with my dad and with Uncle David. My prayers, thoughts and tears are with all of you at this time. Much love to you.

Sweet Ellis family! Our thoughts and prayers have been with you constantly since I learned of Emilee's cancer last week! We are so sorry for your loss and heart ache but also recognize the beauty and grace of our Heavenly Fathers plan! How wonderful to know that sweet Emilee will no longer suffer pain in this life and that you will be with her again someday! As my new 12 year old daughter reminded me on Sunday...."God ALWAYS answers our prayers......maybe not how we thought He would or how we wanted Him to.....He always answers them."

You will continue to be in our prayers and our thought! Love, the Whitmore Family (Amy Hutchins)

Of course she is not gone. She is not far from you right now. Watch, pray, and listen for her to be with you and I know the Lord will grant that blessing frequently and abundantly.

Love you all.

I just want to add that the Stake Center Emilee's viewing and funeral will be at is right across from a fire station in Cedar Hills (to the north of it). Hopefully that will make it easier to find.

Thank you for your love, prayers, and sweet comments, they are appreciated.

President Brigham Young declared:

When you lay down this tabernacle, where are you going? Into the spiritual world…Where is the spirit world? It is right here. Do they go beyond the boundaries of the organized earth? No, they do not…. Can you see it with your natural eyes? No. Can you see spirits in this room? No. Suppose the Lord should touch your eyes that you might see, could you then see the spirits? Yes, as plainly as you now see bodies [Widtsoe, pp. 376-77].

I know that your dear wife and mother has not 'left' you. She will be right here available to you to help you and see you thru lifes challenges. I'll pray for your comfort and peace at this difficult time.

Oh my goodness. I heard from Susan (Stevenson) of Emilee's passing and it made me sad. I'll be thinking of you, hoping wonderful things for all of you, especially as you're struggling to readjust without your wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister... friend. Emilee has touched many people in her lifetime (as you can begin to tell from those people leaving comments here!), and she has certainly touched me with her tender heart. I think the thing I remember most about Emilee was when she went back to school to finish her degree. That was a shining example to me--I was (and still am) so impressed with that.

Love, austin

Dedicated to Emilee and all those who love her.

Going Home

In the mist of prayers and tears out angel went home today.
In the blink of an eye as we said our 'goodbyes' she slipped quietly away.
To us there are mixed feelings
The loss of her presence and gratefulness her pain has ceased.
A light bright above all others showed her the way.
Loved ones there welcomed her home with open arms.
A comforting peace surrounding her.
No more tears and pain.
Her spirit stronger than ever.
Any questions of 'why' now put to rest.
Her understanding expanded.
Her love for us more precious.
Her lifes work done.
Her example lives on.
Her memory a treasure.
She touched our lives in countless ways as a daughter, wife, mother, sister, friend.
Our angel went home today but within our hearts we know she is just a whisper away.

Our love and prayers go out to each of you as yours did to myself and my family when we lost our beloved husband and dad, Merlin twelve years ago.

I pray a comforting peace will fill your hearts knowing how much you are loved.

To the Ellis Family,
I had the opportunity to read the article about your sweet Emilee in the Daily Herald. I was touched because I was in your shoes just over 5 years ago. My mother also died of breast cancer. She had fought the disease for 5 years, until it became obvious the treatments were ineffective, and hospice was needed. I have learned two things I want to share, especially with Emilee's children.
1. Your mother lives! Maybe not in her earthly body where you can see her, but you will feel her presence with you daily, especially during the important times in your life!
2. Great peace will fill your heart. Others, who have not expericanced this, may not understand but you will feel great peace!
My mom, like yours, lived her life to the fullest and she accomplished all that she needed to on this earth, that brings comfort to my heart. May God be with you during these trying times. And I pray a cure will be found for this heartbreaking disease!

I'm not sure if you remember me at all. I'm Holly Sommerville. Julia Fisher's daughter. I babysit for you quite a bit...a long time ago.
I've been meaning to come by and visit for weeks now, but so many things just wouldn't allow it. I apologize that I couldn't be there, but I will be there if i'm ever needed. For you and the boys.
If you ever need a babysitter for any reason I can take the boys. My apt's have a pool, I can take them to the mall or anywhere! And when I get my car fixed, maybe I can take them to Lagoon this summer, hehe. I hope I can help if you ever need me too.
I love you guys! I love Emilee and miss her so. I am absolutely praying for you.
Love,
Holly Jewell Sommerville

p.s. I am trying to find a ride to the viewing on Sunday. I really hope to be there.

Sometimes we question why some live and some pass on. There is work in this life and in the next. It is not our place to decide where we will work. It is our job to always be actively engaged. Emilee was always actively engaged and will always be actively engaged. A good attitude is imperative and Emilee had that. Now we just have to continue to work hard on His work so we can be with Emilee again. We are of course on the right track and we have each other and our Savior to help us along the way. Life can be so hard. I am grateful for you all, the scriptures, the power of prayer, the Holy Ghost and our Savior We love all you fine Dolbergs (and Ellises).
